Like Jesus my Lord and Savior, I feel this same calling.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord" (Luke 4:18,19)
“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10).
“How lovely on the mountains Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace And brings good news of happiness, Who announces salvation, And says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7)
Shepherd-pastor (focused on evangelism, discipleship, life restoration) beginning 2003 and an additional 8 years experience in para-church and church ministry concurrent with many overseas mission trips. I remain teachable and retain a great thirst for learning. I do my best to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
A strong interest in, and love of, outdoor recreation. My wife and I first met each other on the top of Donner Pass (near Lake Tahoe) at a ski bunk and breakfast lodge. I enjoy cross-country skiing, mountain biking (single track), backpacking, camping, mountain climbing, sledding.
When you think of church, what comes to mind - a beautiful building, wonderfully adorned with stained glass and wooden pews, facing a stage with an ornate altar?
