Amazing Grace Colorado

Set Free—My Chains Are Gone!

Amazing Grace Community church is embarking on planting 'house churches' in various areas around Aspen Springs and Pagosa Springs. These house churches will be part of the general assembly of the church where everyone continues to meet on Sundays at the sheep barn in Aspen Springs.

A house church is a group of 6-10 people who live in the same neighborhood, covenanted to meet weekly and build on the church sermon from the previous Sunday.

Why “House Church”?
The biblical model for forming and living in community is House Church. The early New Testament churches gathered in homes, led by an approved and qualified pastor, where people lived out the community modeled and taught by Jesus. They then met together with other house churches in the general assembly.

Examples of House Churches in the Scriptures:
Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house.” Colossians 4:15 Greet Priscilla & Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus ... Greet also the church that meets at their house.” Romans16:3-5 “ ... to Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier—and to the church that meets in your home.” Philemon 1:2

We pursue this kind of community the early followers of Christ experienced.

House Churches are cross-generational, geographically located, are open groups, and children are welcome. It is more like a small church than a small group bible study.
