Grace Givers

What is Grace?

Answer: The empowering presence of God
which enables us to do what He has called
us to do. God is the source of Grace. (Eph 2:4-5)

Note; Mercy is undeserved favor. Grace is given to the humble
and not the proud. Mercy is given to all.

What does it cost?

Answer: Grace is freely given (2 Peter 1:2-4) - it is promised to the humble (Ja 4:6).

What does Grace do?
  • it empowers people for service,
  • it enables people to lead the simple life,
  • it is not given for selfish use.

Grace Receivers = Know how much they’ve been forgiven [Sinful woman Lk 7:36,46-47].

Grace Growers
= Bring grace out in others. God grows our faith by testing it. [Ja 1:2-4].

Grace Givers = Those who have received and now extend it. Like sinful woman. Like Jesus.

  • Know how much they’ve been forgiven,
  • have begun to see others the same way God does,
  • give from the heart,
  • lay down their lives for others,
  • experience and participate in God’s miracles of grace,
  • change the world because God has changed them,
  • are blessed as they bless others.

Jesus was / is a grace giver. Jesus brought grace. Demonstrated it for us. Jn 1:17
  • Consider the adulterous woman… John 8:1-11
  • Consider Peter who denied Christ 3 times Mt 26:69-75. Jesus redeemed him. Built the church on him. Jn 21:15-17
  • Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Romans 10:1-13 & 10:4.
  • We are now saved by grace through faith Eph 2:8.

Reflect
Have you grown from being a grace grower (see other blog) to a grace giver?
How does the grace given you impact your behavior? Do you give much because you’ve received much?

Go And Do
Grace is connected with service. People we know…. Often the one who is the meanest to us just needs to be loved. They have no love in their life. Through God, we can give it to them. Love is wrapped up inside of grace.

Find a grace grower and love them. Find the unloved and mean and love them. 2 Cor 9:8
Be a Grace Giver! Think of some while we are closing in prayer. Determine to give them grace.

“Start by doing what is necessary; then do what is possible; and suddenly you’re doing the impossible.” St. Francis of Assisi 2 Cor 12:10
